Customer Experience
We use the Superscope PSD300 CD
Recording System every week at King of King’s Lutheran Church. During a typical church service, I’ll conduct the choir, play piano, organ or hand bells accompaniment, and often use prerecorded music CDs as additional accompaniment or background music.
Because the PSD300 has two playback drives, I can have two different
music CDs cued up and ready to use. It’s easy for a sound person or me to toggle between the two drives and play tracks by spinning the jog wheel to quickly select a track. It’s just one less thing to worry about. And the sound quality through our sound system is outstanding.
We also plan to record services with the PSD300 in the future. We’re still mainly cassette-based when it comes to recording and duplicating services, but now we can make CDs and duplicate them upon request. Certainly, more and more churcheswill be switching from tapes to CDs, because of the
quality, convenience, and cost of CD-R media. The nice thing about the PSD300 is that it’s like a professional portable tape recorder, except that it records directly to CD. Because it has two drives, you can also duplicate CDs on the spot.
For rehearsals with various choirs,
the PSD300 is a great tool. It has
controls to change the key or tempo of any song on CD at the touch of a button. It’s also very
convenient for playing split-track choral accompaniments, and for making practice CDs for choir
members. In all, I’m very pleased with the PSD300. Unlike some equipment, it was very easy to
read through the manual and
understand its capabilities. Now I can run it practically blindfolded.
