Customer Experience

Like many music instructors and Superscope customers, Terry Burridge once recorded her lessons to cassette. As you might expect, Terry found this process to be difficult and unsatisfactory. Things got a little easier when a fellow teacher introduced her to the Superscope PSD340. Once Terry’s colleague provided a quick demo, and explained what a wonderful teaching aid the unit had been, it didn’t take long for Terry to realize she was ready to make the transition from analogue to digital audio recording.

“I can’t tell you what a relief it was to have a machine like the PSD 340 which was capable of performing such incredible functions,” states Terry.

Terry’s singing students continue to get excited at the prospect of having their own voices on CD with excellent backing tracks as accompaniment. They are able to take the recordings home and listen to their voices and learn where improvements can be made.

The ability to record directly to CD is something that Terry still enjoys, even after she’s upgraded to the hard drive-based PSD450. Terry explains, “I still use both machines as I find it very useful in my teaching to copy from disc to disc. I don’t always want to record on to the hard drive first.” Even though Terry has discovered that recording live performances directly to CD saves time, she does utilize the PSD450’s hard drive for archiving CDs.

For Terry, the real value of the PSD450 comes in its recording quality and ease-of-use, and of course the Key and Tempo controls, which are common to both the PSD340 and the PSD450 – “huge assets to my teaching.” Terry finds the quality of the PSD450’s stereo internal microphones to be superior, and the overall recording quality to be excellent compared to the cassettes she once used and the smaller handheld recording devices available today. Even though the PSD450 has considerably more features than the PSD340, Terry feels that the PSD450 is even more user-friendly with instructions that are very simple to follow.

Terry concludes, “For my own singing and for teaching purposes, the Superscope has been a wonderful asset which has saved time and made my teaching life so much easier. I couldn’t be without this technology now.”
