That’s right. The new Superscope PSD300
is an all-in-one, portable recording studio in a 12-inch box. This is the
perfect solution to your demo dilemmas. Now you can plug in your guitar and
a microphone, and record direct to disc using CD-R or CD-RW blanks. Using
the CD-RW blanks, you can record, erase, re-record, and then accompany
yourself using your first master to create exciting, professional-sounding
recordings. Or, you can use track discs to back up your vocals. The
completed disc can be dupllicated as needed at 2x speed, eliminating the
need to order hundreds of copies at a time.
The unit features two stereo XLR and two 1/4” mic/line inputs, programmable mic/line EQ and filtering, and automatic record level control. And for those occasions when you desire live recording in settings where mic quality isn’t as crucial (such as meetings, speeches, or capturing practice session for review), simply plug in the unit, load in a blank CDR and push record. The built in microphone and playback speaker offer easy live-to-disc recording and simple playback monitoring.
And the CD playback drive is more than just a CD player. It is also a useful tool that allows you to change the key of a song in 1/8th of a half-step increments. You can even change the tempo -33% to +50% without chaning key. YOu can also essentially remove the lead vocals from many songs, and create A-B practice loops allowing you to work on a specific portion of a song.
The PSD300 not only stands alone as an affordable, effective musician’s right hand, it also has great applications for voice coaches and music teachers. The ability to record live to disc makes recording the practice session or voice lesson as simple as a push of a button, yet creating an invaluable evaluation tool for both the teacher and the student. For school and church music programs, this offers and excellent way to capture and catalog practice sessions for use by those unable to attend.
